Why an Agoria website on ISA-95 and MES?

Agoria is the Belgian Federation of Technology Companies. Within Agoria there is a sector called Industrial Automation in which all companies wth an interest in Industrial Automation are grouped. One level deeper we find a subsector that focusses on Business & Manufacturing Solutions. In todays manufacturing environments we find a strong need to intergrate our manufacturing processes with the rest of our business processes and even with the business processes of our suppliers and customers in the supply chain. The Foundation Partners listed below decided to create a website that should allow Manufacturing companies to have a dynamic information source on everything in the so called Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions (MES) space. MES is in and sexy.

But why ISA-95?

ISA-95 is an industy standard that attracts more and more consultants, suppliers and manufacturers because it provides a standard way of approaching Enterprise Control System Integration (automating MES-layer and MES-ERP Integration). It provides models and terminolgy to make everybody talk the same language. It provides object models with predefined attributes. It rovides activity models of manufacturing management in the fields of production, inventory, maintenance and quality. Finally it helps in defining the transactions that need to take place wihin Manufacturing.
